The 2022 Regatta cannot be held on Labor Day weekend this year. We are considering other dates.
We will have links to the current regatta documents later!
This year we are unable to obtain a permit for our annual Labor Day weekend regatta from the Pt. Reyes park service. Apparently, they are not issuing group permits for holiday weekends. We discussed this at our May monthly meeting. One alternative option would be to hold the event on the weekend before Labor Day, Friday Aug 26 to Monday Aug 29, assuming we can get a permit for that time. Another option we have discussed in the past would be for each of us to try to get individual permits for Labor Day weekend. We decided to poll the group and see how members would like to proceed.
The Labor Day Invitational Regatta on Tomales Bay is our premier event of the year. This family affair involves camping on Marshall Beach (west shore of Tomales Bay) for three days, where there is no road access, meaning that everything is taken in by boat! During the three days, there are beach activities and sail racing. The regatta consists of five races. Launch ramp for keel fleet is located at Miller Park. Additional beach launching site for dinghys is at Marconi Cove. Camping is on the beach in Point Reyes National Seashore.
